there is this tiny little island maybe a couple football field lengths away from the shoreline that is easily reachable by surfboard, kayak, or even wading by foot. there is a surf spot right next to it called goats, so most refer to this lil' island as goat island but technically it's a bird nesting reservation.
chase and i decided to adventure on over there, so one saturday we packed up our goods and were on our way. we should a thought ahead by packing our stuff in a large trash bag to not get wet, but we forgot. so we had to improvise last minute and borrow a used one from a nearby campsite trash can. i know, gross. luckily it was pretty new.
it was fun to explore the island feeling like we owned it! we saw lots of sea slugs and waded through tide pools. not to mention, chase saved an injured bird that was caught in the cove of rocks! such a sweetie.
I love that chase helped the bird get to dry ground. to cute! what neat pictures!
ReplyDeletei hope that bird didn't come in contact with chase. you're not supposed to touch anything, especially their eggs - they'll abandon them! i had a FRIGHTENING experience "swimming" there once... yikes.
ReplyDeletedont worry we no touchy anything or animal or eggs or anything. hence the long sticks haha. we saved him, he would a for sure drowned in the waves being stuck in that cove and all. and when we put him on the grass he seemed happy :)
DeleteIt looks so pretty there! Lucky. I'm "enjoying" freezing, grey, dreary weather. Blech!
