I feel so lucky to have this beautiful video of our baby girl made by my sister Kylie. She compiled clips filmed by us, my sister Megan, and friend Lex to make it. I just adore our baby girl and this video brought me to tears. I will definitely share more about her adoption day and sealing day, but for now this about sums up my feelings. So happy she is a part of our eternal family.
Part of me feels overwhelmed that I am so behind on documenting my adventures here on my blog. I haven't even touched my photos from all my road trips and vacations since July of last year, and I believe part of that is due to instagram and snapchat. It's just the way social media has transitioned, don't you think? But I don't want to let go of documenting here on my blog. I've put years of time and effort into journaling my families life and don't want to stop now. I am also having trouble with some hard drives not allowing me to add/drop photos and lightroom not downloading to my desktop, so that has been a huge pain and set back to getting my photos edited. Help? Haha, I'm a tech dummy. Anyway, the point of this is that I want to keep my blog a realistic space where I can journal things in more detail. I've had to learn to prioritize my time as to what is most important in my life, and sometimes unnecessary stressors need to be alleviated. So cheers to that. And to what I'm about to talk about.
I would like to believe that what I share here is safe. Although, I realize that it most likely isn't. Putting ones life on the internet can be intimidating, scary, and even dangerous. I've had many times throughout the years where I've doubted that, which has stopped me at times from blogging regularly. These days just about everything is often public knowledge. Although at times I sort of enjoy that, other times I don't see the relevance. Remember the days people had to send telegrams to know what was going on with their friends and family, even in the same city? I didn't even have a cell phone until my senior year in high school, and even then I kept it off all day and only used it to check in with my parents in case of an emergency. It was a green screen Motorola and I remember playing snake in my bed at night before my parents would take it away (they were smart). Sometimes I literally miss the good ole' days, just as 21 Pilots so beautifully shares haha. Cause man, times have changed and I'm starting to feel old haha.
Anyway, overall I will continue to share things I am comfortable with. There is a lot of positive out in the cyber land and that is what I hope to achieve here and aspire to upholding. Being able to connect with people across the globe in an instant is literally a mind blowing miracle. We are often introduced to people we may have never connected with prior to technology advances, and it's enabled many to run successful businesses and platforms that have lead to careers and even answers to prayers. It's just our generation and a result of our times.

Kind words can move mountains people, so thank you to all those who have shared yours with my husband and I. It really means a lot and helps me get through each day knowing the world is good. People are good. And we will find our baby with the miracle of technology and social media.
And quick update before I check out. Our home study is just about done. The paperwork is complete, we are just waiting on sending in a few last items before we can schedule our home and office visits. We unfortunately had a few set backs with appointments last month that were outside of our control, but have since completed them and are waiting for a few documents. My goal is to have our profile on www.adoption.com up in June and I think it is totally doable! At that point the goal will be to SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! So stay tuned, we're gettin' there ;).
Chase went to Nicaraga with his brothers and a few friends for an all guys surf trip. It literally was nothing but surf, eat, surf, sleep on repeat. He was there for a week while I was in Hawaii and we were both in our own kinds of heaven. Honestly, I'm so proud of him for taking any pictures at all haha, I wasn't sure he would. I asked him to blog about his trip himself but he's a lazy lard so here I am stating the boring facts ;).
The guys stayed by Playa Colorados the entire time and rented a rad house right on the beach. They had their own housekeeper and chef which I know they all were stoked on. They paid a local kid to take some surf shots from the beach, but as you can tell they are all blurry with bushes in the way haha. E for effort ;). In Chase's words here is a summary of what they did. "We explored the jungle a bit, rode motorcycles through town, and surfed a ton." Awesome, gotta love those details ;). Husbands, am I right?!
Lake Tahoe is one of those places that when you wake up it looks like this.
You hike down steep hillsides through all the beautiful pines and feel like you're deep into the forest. But ...
... before you know it you see the lake so blue you feel like you're looking at the ocean on a tropical island.
So of course you take a dip in the crystal clear waters. Except they're crispy cold!
When you decide to look around for different glorious coves to float in you laugh because you're hiking in your swimsuit in the forest.
And then this happens again and you're super happy.
When you hit the road you get to look at views like this and get your mind blown.
You stop to take a picture of your hat with the treeline because it makes sense :)

And after a long day laying in the sun and hiking through the forest you snuggle up to your tent on the waters edge and watch the sun set.Amen to a good weekend.

As I'm sure you all know, Chase and i LOVE to be outdoors. As soon as we are off work or have a free moment, we like to take it outside. We have such good weather here in California that eating inside seems weird. Unless its while watching one of my favorite shows, I'm always down for that ;). I just love eating dinner on the porch, better yet breakfast. And where we live we can hear the ocean in the distance. Oooo soooo good. Anyway, there I go on one of my rambles. Not what I am blogging about, oops!
A few weekends ago Chase and I decided to go on a hike for our Saturday adventure. We typically choose the beach or surfing, but we like to mix it up here and there and I felt it was time for another hike. Plus its always a good excuse to get some exercise in on a day we usually choose to relax. Hiking in my books counts as a workout ;). It's been fun discovering new places local to our area. This was about 15 minutes or so from our house. I'm typically not a fan of hot desert hikes, but hitting this waterhole at the end made it all worth it. I felt like a lizard basking in the sun :). So Chase and I went to Six Flags a few weeks ago and decided to take photos. I'm so glad we did because we had the best time and now we can look back and remember that fun day. You see, we made a rule a while back that no phones or cameras were allowed on dates or must be left in the car. Personally, we found that it helps us to actually listen to each other and focus on building our relationship rather than checking our phone every five seconds out of habit for the latest instagrams or sports update. I always thought that I was good at multi-tasking and could still listen to people while on my phone. But no, I cannot. It just doesn't work that way. Half listening or always saying, "Wait what," isn't good enough, especially when it comes to my husband whom I cherish over everything. I know, our world is sickening. Our phones may as well be another appendage. Phone five anyone?
Besides that rant, Chase threw a cute little diddy together of our day at Six Flags. We went on an evening where it was closed down for Triple A customers so the park wasn't crowded at all and we hit up about 13 roller coasters in a row under four hours. I blacked out a few times and pretty much went silent after about five roller coasters. My head ached, my tummy was turning, and I lost my appetite and desire to speak haha. I literally wanted to puke. I almost did but had to put up a mental block to stop myself by focusing on one object in front of me. If I would have let it go, it would have been all over myself and in my lap due to the position I was in on that particular ride. Ugh, I survived. Had I not been hanging from a ride that took forever to go in, I would be sharing another story here haha. BUT, let's not be dismayed. I had a great time and still love amusement parks. I just have a limit I have to listen to since I'm a girl who gets motion sick. This time I just let myself go so Chase could fill his amusement park heart desires :). Oh the things a wife does for her husband ;).

There were a few days this past week that were glassy goodness, with water so aqua and clear that for a moment I imagined I was in Hawaii :). As you can see, we got ourselves a go pro FINALLY. Annnnnd, we can't stop taking pictures and videos hehe. Finally, my husband is down for photos! MIRACLE! He has been fighting me to not take pictures and lately he's been winning. But the go pro has changed his ways ;). He's been having fun compiling little videos of our adventures and I love seeing what he comes up with. So be expecting videos every now and again from here on out. Chase and I both have YouTube channels but we started up our own Vimeo account together if you wanna stay tuned. Enjoy!
