a rondo christmas indeed

chase and i were so blessed to be able to go home for christmas this year! christmas 2011 we spent with just the two of us here in hawaii. christmas 2010 i spent with my sister kylie and her husband here in hawaii and chase was with his family (we weren't married yet). and christmas 2009 was the last time i was in idaho with my own family for christmas! insane i know. so it was so wonderful to be with family for the holidays. we soaked it all up.

the rondo family has a tradition where all the cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc... i mean the whole sha-bang, spend the night at their grandparents house (nana and papa). most of chase's family from both sides all live in the san diego area, which totally blows my mind. pretty awesome for them. so this was definitely a new experience for me, and it's so fun to see how different each family celebrates this holiday with their own traditions.

on christmas eve we loaded up the car with presents and goodies and headed to nanny and papas house. there we visited with family, ate lots of enchiladas, tamales, and treats, and relaxed by the fire. i couldn't believe how many gifts were in the room! it was a beautiful sight haha. after we had dinner and sang some christmas songs, we had the rondo sibling gift exchange. then we hung out some more till i literally had the worst talking headache and made our way to bed. in the morning we woke up to full stockings, gift opening, childrens laughter and smiling faces. oh and cinnabon cinnamon rolls of course. the rest of the day was spent relaxing at home and ended with going to see jack reacher at the movies. it was perfect.

christmas 2013 will be spent at the fly home and we can't wait! especially me ;).
