every day

as some of you may have noticed, i have added a fitness page to my blog! feel free to check it out. i graduated in exercise sports and science and want to put my degree to use in as many ways as possible and continue the learning process. especially while i am in this weird "limbo" phase of 'get by' jobs and 'not sure what to do with my life' thoughts hehe. it will help keep me motivated on creating new workouts and hopefully get you motivated too. so this is one small way i can do that by sharing things i have learned with exercise and work outs for you to try. so expect work out posts here and there, alongside my recipe posts and the rondo life.

there is no right or wrong way to choose how often you exercise or what you do. anything is great and better than nothing. but just know at least 30 minutes three days a week. and no excessive exercising, everything must be done in moderation. here is what i do just to give you an idea of what direction you can take your exercise regimen if you're not sure. the typical exercise i do to keep me feeling healthy alongside a clean diet is at least an hour at the gym monday-friday. i rest or play catch up on saturday, and rest on sunday. when i'm at the gym i spend 30-45 minutes lifting weights, 15-20 minutes cardio, and then my 'mat exercises' as i like to call them, which are listed below. notice i start with anerobic exercise and then do my aerobic exercise, or cardio (for a reason, see fitness page). wednesdays i only do cardio. and keep in mind, if you are a runner or training for a race, that is a whole different story on how you exercise. rest days are vital to help your body re cooperate. so most importantly, listen to your body and rest when you need to. we all do it. and please also know i am not a perfect person and do skip days and even weeks sometimes (dang it), rest, or make work outs quick. i am not a robot. but i always strive for at least 3 days a week, as should you.

keep in mind the work outs i will post are not any that i find on pinterest. i have absolutely nothing against pinterest, don't get me wrong. i am a huge fan of using the internet as a tool, but i want to be sure to incorporate my own creative juices from things i have learned or want to learn more about to get our bodies into tip top shape. it should be an adventure.

here is a simple routine that i like to do five days a week, monday through friday, typically after my official work out is complete. i like to think of it as hitting all the bases to keep you tight. if you can't make it to a gym or don't have much time to work out, do this. it should take 30 minutes or less. and if you're not sure what the exercise is, click on it. most of them are obvious and i'm sure you already know, but they may help with proper technique. good luck!

every day routine

50 sit ups (or crunches)
100 second side plank
100 second other side plank
30 squats with weight, resistance band, or stability ball
100 jumping jacks
