i have realized that i really enjoy planning and throwing parties. it is so exciting to think of new things to bake, cute ways to decorate, and most importantly how to make someone feel extra special. so together with some friends help, came this fun little baby shower for our sweet friend kyrie and her baby girl on the way.
kyrie was one of my very first college friends, way back from freshmen year at byu-idaho. we met on a double "blind" date, and to say the least . . . we liked each other more than the boys who took us (hehe). so, ever since we have been friends and both ended up being neighbors here in hawaii years later! she is due february 24th and i can't wait to meet baby day (her last name).
for the party i decided on the colors rose, cream, burnt orange, and mint because i am just in love with that color scheme lately. from there we worked with what we could find at the store and made a cute tassle garland out of tissue and hemp, tissue pom poms for above the table, a polka-dot photo wall, and lots of cute labels for the food table, themed "babies touch the world with love". there was a delicious fruit salad, yummy veggie tray, french bread, chocolate chip cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, tasty brownies, and a white ombre cake (which i love how it turned out). mmmm mmmm. overall i feel the shower turned out adorable and the mama to be truly felt loved. success!
You are so good at it too! Maybe event planning is down the road for you dear friend :)
