lanikai. i love love love lanikai. it's in kailua and one of the most beautiful beaches around. the sand is soft and white, the water is a beautiful aqua color, and the view is unbeatable. it's different than the north shore, that's for sure. it's funny how different sides of the island really are "different". the sand, the water, the people, the usual activities, etc. lanikai attracts a lot of paddlers, kite surfers, and swimmers, probably because of it's tradewinds.
we went there a couple weekends ago to go on a fun hike i wrote about HERE. the pillboxes were once used by the military during the war as lookout towers. of course, now they are abandoned, making them a beautiful hiking destination to check out the view of the kailua valley and coastline. i am forever grateful to live in hawaii, and cannot believe how lucky i am to be here. hawaii makes me so happy and will forever hold a special place in my heart. it's a simple, slow, and beautiful life that i never want to let go of.
holy cow those landscape pictures are breaking! you are the cutest!
ReplyDeletehow i miss these views!
ReplyDeleteps your explanation of this hike is better on your blog than on TT (not that it was bad, but i felt i understood it better here). perhaps think about that when you're posting on TT :) love you!
