"hello whale!" i think it was a mama and her cute baby. i saw a large spout and splash and then some small fins breaching as if waving hello. i loved it, it totally made my day. from experience, keikis seems to be a great beach to see the whales in action during whale season. and not to mention it's one of mine and chase's favorites. especially on sunny clear days.
chase did some body surfing while i rested on the beach observing the happy whales and dreaming of one day owning a beach bungalow on the north shore. a place where chase and i could always return with our family to surf and eat shaved ice on the beach. it's one of our goals, thinkin' big here haha! so we will see if it happens. either way, i will be happy. as long as i live near an ocean in a cute and colorful beach cottage that's also near the mountains. win, win.
I love whales! So awesome that you saw some. I laughed when I read your hopes of living near the ocean AND near the mountains. I say that to James all the time. Best of both worlds! Can't have one without the other.
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of why I like living in Connecticut, actually. Because it's so small, you can climb a mountain and then go sit on the beach like a half hour later. I mean, it's a Long island Sound beach, not anywhere near as beautiful as Hawaii, but it gets the job done for those of us drawn to water :)
