We decided to ride our bikes with our boards (well had no other choice, we have no car) and it sure was fun! I caught some waves and enjoyed myself. Although one guy (instructor who is actually my roommates friend) freaked out on me for being a "dangerous rider" and basically told me I should stay out of the water :( And all since I can't quite carve well out of peoples way yet. My feelings were hurty so I made sure to inform him that Castles is for people who suck so be nice (or something along those lines) and he apologized :) No one was hit or hurt it was just a close call, so all is well. Chase explained to me how the guy was probably just reacting due to the safety of the little boy he was instructing and didn't mean to be a punk, which was true. But still. I just need to learn to not be so easily offended and continue surfing because I enjoy it, which I will!
So we had a fun time surfing and laying in the sun. Great Saturday. Mahalo Hawaii. I think we got a decent tan today!!

yay surfing i miss it so much, and hawaii and being tan but mostly you! how funnnnn! and i'm sorry about that meany head on the waves, i hate when people make you feel like a loser. trust me, you're doing great so keep it up lis! i had so many close calls haha and i did hit people hahahaha! and you're seriously so gorgeous i love your smile and hair and sunglasses! oh man i cant wait for this weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteYAY i looooove this post! i remember those surf days where you come home tan, crisp and covered in salt and sand in your toes and showering to feel refreshed and glowing with natural beauty. haha. and surfing at castles is always fun. i´m so glad you told that guy off. that´s what you gotta do at castles... if someone is a punk just remind them where they are and they´ll know you´re right. but it´s true... castles is dangerous haha people are always hitting each other. remember my last surf day at castles when i got knocked out and had to get towed in! haha now that is a laugh! glad you´re having a good time and that mr. rondo is patient... a cameron rondo i know wouldn´t dare show his face at castles... he totally made fun of me once and it really hurt my feelings but i recovered. just surf because you love it. no need to prove yourself to anyone. same thing goes for turtle bay. dont let people tell you off or rat on your for anything because it´s turtle bay - not pipeline! love you sis. keep having fun. spencer and i are already plotting a way to get back soon. hopefully meg and i win that north shore contest haha. love you.
ReplyDeletePS HOT HEELS wow you are gonna be smokin at the wedding i CANNOT WAIT to see you! hope i feel pretty too heehee
ReplyDeleteoh man i see that happen so much on the ski hill, and I was a little dangerous when I was trying to learn how to board. once i hit someone when i was wearing my instructors jacket but was learning on my board, so they thought that i was a really irresponsible snowboard instructor, hehe. but i am glad that you told him off and that that was a place for learners. and learning new things that other people are really passionate about is really hard and intimidating, because people get this sense of entitlement. way to go lisa ;)
ReplyDeletelastly... are those PROOFS
ReplyDeletekylie no they are quicksilvers. and thank you everyone for the support :) it is so true that some surfers do feel entitled to "their" waves ESPECIALLY here in hawaii. but i just wish every athlete whether skiing or snowboarding or surfing would just appreciate and love the sport for what it is instead of making learners feel like poo and super lame just cause they are new unlike their "pro" self. where is the love, for real?! but i will continue to surf duh cause i love it! yay!
ReplyDeletehahahahaha yea lets just all be friends with the ocean. k jokes. this is is my first and last post on a blog ever
