A mini shred sesh with my new surf socks from @wetsoxsurf. They make it so easy to take my wet suit on and off while giving me an extra layer of warmth for cold winter surfing. You should check them out! It's a great surf tip for those who are always in cold water whether its rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, or surfing.

The Hurley Pro is held here in San Clemente every year at Trestles. We went to one of the days with our nephew Krew and Chase's brother Cameron. Krew is such a cutie, love seeing how excited he gets to see Kelly Slater. He loves that guy!! One day Chase and I hope to follow the world surf league and travel the whole time. Dreamin' big here ;).

This little gem of a beach is on the Oregon Coast. The waves are the perfect size for my liking and its all sand bottom yumminess. This day in particular was rarely divine because the sun gods (pun intended---sterling spencer) granted us with clear blue skies and warmer waters. I mean don't get me wrong, Oregon's ocean is always nippy haha, but I survived without a hood and gloves this time. Ky and I paddled out with our brothers and had a grand time pretending we knew what was up. And you wonder why there are never photos of us actually surfing? Two reasons. One, the water was freezing and no one was willing to swim with a go pro. And two, our surf pics are boring status and I'm not afraid to admit it. Okay, the end!

Fortunately, I was able to meet up with my girlfriends Mindy, Carrie and Bethany for a girls day! We started off with a surf sesh at Castles and lots of snorkeling, shelling, and playing in the waves. Sunset beach is always a go to for some good laying out and swimming so we were sure to hit that up. I made a visit to Haleiwa for my favorite acai bowl for breakfast after buying a far too expensive but worth it swimmy at San Lorenzo :). I had Wailua Bakery for lunch, and of course had girls night at Opal Thai which is the most delicious Thai I have ever had! Highly recommended if you ever go to Oahu. After dinner we stopped at Ono Yo for some frozen yogurt and met up with a few more of my girlfriends who still live on the island. It was so nice catching up on life. Two of my friends are pregnant, one with her second and the other with her first! The rest of us talked about babies plenty and how excited we are to one day be moms.
I'm not sure how much better a day could get than good friends, delicious food, surf, shelling, swimming, and sun. Oh and lets not forget the adorable house I got to stay at for the second half of my trip! See picture #5! That cute green house is where my friend Carrie and her husband Ben live and work. It's a little private ranch right on the point in Kahuku. It overlooks the ocean and has a wonderful breeze that comes in, especially in the evenings. It is so quaint and relaxing, I have no doubt my friend Carrie is in heaven living there in her cute beach cottage with horses and dogs running around :). What a dream.
Chase went to Nicaraga with his brothers and a few friends for an all guys surf trip. It literally was nothing but surf, eat, surf, sleep on repeat. He was there for a week while I was in Hawaii and we were both in our own kinds of heaven. Honestly, I'm so proud of him for taking any pictures at all haha, I wasn't sure he would. I asked him to blog about his trip himself but he's a lazy lard so here I am stating the boring facts ;).
The guys stayed by Playa Colorados the entire time and rented a rad house right on the beach. They had their own housekeeper and chef which I know they all were stoked on. They paid a local kid to take some surf shots from the beach, but as you can tell they are all blurry with bushes in the way haha. E for effort ;). In Chase's words here is a summary of what they did. "We explored the jungle a bit, rode motorcycles through town, and surfed a ton." Awesome, gotta love those details ;). Husbands, am I right?!
All I can say is that right now I'm stoked. Tomorrow I fly out to HAWAII!!!! I CAN"T WAIT! I'm going to visit some friends and hang out on the North Shore for a week and live the HI life again :) I plan on shelling, surfing, eating poke and taking lots of beach naps. If I can, I'll try and squeeze in a hike with some friends. How this spontaneous trip came to be was for reals divine intervention.
Back in January or so, Chase, his brothers and Dad started planning this surf trip to Nicaragua. Unfortunately, it was boys only so I was major bummed. To make myself feel better I randomly looked up flights to Hawaii a few weeks ago, my happy place, and it was meant to be! I found a stellar deal on a flight and within the day it was booked. Aweeee, I feel happier now :) Anyway, I still plan on taking a sisters trip internationally here in the near future since Chase gets to go to Nicaragua, but more than anything I want to explore this beautiful world with him. We have been talking about Tahiti and Bali a TON lately and I can't stop day dreaming about it. So, before we have kids you better believe we are gonna hope and pray to make that happen. In the meantime, stay tuned via my instagram for some aloha vibes comin' up :)!
