after our gnarly stairway hike, we deserved a good breakfast. so we drove to kailua and got some delicious crepes at the best little cafe ever called a Crepes No Ka Oi. go there! oh my gosh it was to die for good, and seriously the best crepes i have ever had. they had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert crepes. pretty awesome if you ask me. and the presentation was beautiful. nothing beats that. there was an older fellow laughing at me for taking photos of our food, but i don't care. can you blame me? i mean look at it.
next stop after breakfast was the beach! we wanted to relax so lanikai was the spot! i love this beach and its beautiful clear aqua waters. chase and i have paddled out to the mokulua islands in the past (or the mokes) that you can see in the background and it is so fun and beautiful out there. i highly recommend taking a kayak or surfboard and paddling out. there is an awesome hidden bay in the back and even a little surf break to the right. but we didn't have boards and we were tired so we took a nap, swam, chatted, relaxed, and ate our lunch. it was the perfect day and felt great to relax our legs after the long hike.
and a little shout out to my friend melanie's husband's company CASSETTE optics, which we are gladly supporting and wearing pretty much 24/7. thanks mel for always keepin' us fresh! go check out their site, their glasses seriously rock! and don't mind chase's photo bombing (wink). he enjoys doing that.

DeleteAwe yea, those crepes are amazing. I still dream about them.
ReplyDeleteSuper Saturday indeed! Cheers to a fan breakfast after a hard hike :) That crepe looked SCRUMPTIOUS! And then the beach sounded perfect. What a fun time with your sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteOops, fan breakfast = fab breakfast ;)
Deletelong time reader first time poster. Your photos are STUNNING! Just added "hike Stairway to Heaven" to my bucket list. Seriously jut breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteAlso, was considering out checking out a pair of Cassette's but am somewhat hesitant now after reading Kylie's comment about them breaking. Do you know if that is a common problem? LOVE the Jackson's but can't afford to drop $50 on some glasses that are likely to break that quick! :)
thank you so much! hawaii makes for a great place to live :) and yes PLEASE DO check out cassette. ignore ky's comment, she was out of line. cassette has been a company for about 4-5 years now and have improved a TON and their new stuff is awesome! i have tons of pairs and have had zero problems and i wear them all the time. glasses are glasses no matter what brand you just have to be careful. cassettes are a great price and way more reasonable than many others, and not cheap by any means. so GO FOR IT!
Deletehaha so fun! dad wants to eat at that crepe place so bad now! you guys are hot.
