A few weeks after Remi was born, my sister in laws through me the most beautiful baby shower. It was an explosion of all of my favorite things and colors! Pineapples, palms, tropical flowers, fruit, pinks, greens, aqua, chocolate, yummy salad, water colors, GAH it was perfect! I adored every bit. THANK YOU to all who helped throw this together. It was such a special gift for Remi and I, and we were spoiled beyond words. Needless to say, the outfits and diapers received have been getting us three these past four months :). I felt very special in the queen peacock chair and we definitely felt the love. Blessings big time!
The dinner that was served was pulled pork sandwiches on Hawaiian rolls, salad, and fruit with yummy dip. The dessert was a beautiful spice cake, an array of brownies, cheesecake, cupcakes, and little lemon tarts. Everything was so dang good! And not to mention the pina colada (virgin-hehe) drinks were to die for. Kristi and Lindsay set up a questionnaire game that explained our adoption story for the people in attendance to have a basic background. Chase showed up near the end to present our little angel to all our family and friends (she was two weeks old). Remi is one loved little lady, and I'm so lucky to have her!
I was also so grateful to have my mom there with me (so sad we didn't get a photo) to celebrate this big day at my side. I have been to MANY baby showers and seen all my friends become mothers. So to finally have my special day brought tears to my eyes. Every day I am grateful to be a mom, and love every bit of where I am at in life. Wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

after our gnarly stairway hike, we deserved a good breakfast. so we drove to kailua and got some delicious crepes at the best little cafe ever called a Crepes No Ka Oi. go there! oh my gosh it was to die for good, and seriously the best crepes i have ever had. they had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert crepes. pretty awesome if you ask me. and the presentation was beautiful. nothing beats that. there was an older fellow laughing at me for taking photos of our food, but i don't care. can you blame me? i mean look at it.
next stop after breakfast was the beach! we wanted to relax so lanikai was the spot! i love this beach and its beautiful clear aqua waters. chase and i have paddled out to the mokulua islands in the past (or the mokes) that you can see in the background and it is so fun and beautiful out there. i highly recommend taking a kayak or surfboard and paddling out. there is an awesome hidden bay in the back and even a little surf break to the right. but we didn't have boards and we were tired so we took a nap, swam, chatted, relaxed, and ate our lunch. it was the perfect day and felt great to relax our legs after the long hike.
and a little shout out to my friend melanie's husband's company CASSETTE optics, which we are gladly supporting and wearing pretty much 24/7. thanks mel for always keepin' us fresh! go check out their site, their glasses seriously rock! and don't mind chase's photo bombing (wink). he enjoys doing that.

chase's birthday was such a fun day. it started out right with me singing to him and bringing him breakfast in bed! i made him his favorite: cinnamon roll, maple bacon, cheesy eggs, and guava juice. and to make it fun i served it in mugs i drew on with a sharpie and baked so the note would stay. i also made him a homemade card with water paints. i think he was happy! after breakfast i let him open one of his gifts before he went to school. now he has nixon headies to zone out with. they are super nice and he has been wanting them since christmas so i'm glad he now has them. thank you parents, he loves them!
after he got home from class he took the rest of the day off so we could play. off to the beach it was! we laid out, napped, chatted, explored, and swam. it was seriously the perfect day with the perfect weather. and the water was so warm and pleasant. we love this little nook. we were in heaven.
once we were beached out we went home, showered, and got ready for dinner in haleiwa. before we left i let him open his gift from me, some vans that we are both quite obsessed with right now. they look hot! then we were off to dinner at banzai sushi. we both love sushi and it's chase's favorite, so it made for the perfect meal on his birthday. and we love the ambiance of this sushi bar, it is so chill.
once we stuffed ourselves with sushi we headed home for the party! more on this to come . . .
