heart shaped carrots and some kitchen dancing

when discussing what to do for valentines day this year, chase and i threw around a couple ideas. the typical "date night", a fancy dinner, a hotel visit, possible gift exchange, etc. etc. we discussed our possibilities of enhancing the romance for the day, and chase just kept saying, "all i want for valentines day is to hang out with you." i love that about him, because i know he means it. and i know he really doesn't care about all the "stuff" that is so easy to get caught up in over this silly holiday.

we kept things simple and romantic, an at home date like last year. my heart was all warm and fuzzy and i felt giddy again, thinking of ways to "impress" my husband. haha, which is kinda hilarious if you think about it. i never wanted marriage to stop my husband and i from being on our best behavior and turning into robots, and so far i feel we have done pretty well at remembering and reminding each other of our love.

the day was simple and perfect. chase woke me up with yummy heart shaped cinnamon french toast and lots of kisses. then after work i  "surprised" him with dinner featuring heart shaped carrots, a homemade card, and his favorite valentine chocolates (even though i'm sure he knew it was coming). to make it lovey like i decided to pull out all our past valentines day cards and love notes from when we were dating, and take a walk down memory lane. and before we knew it we were dancing to pandoras "love" station in the kitchen. literally, i was dancing. a miracle that only chase can bring out of me when no one is looking. it was romantic :). and to end the evening we toasted our sparkling cider and helped ourselves to delicious chocolate dipped strawberries and a movie. i love love. thank you valentines day.
