girls can surf too

let me talk about my feelings on surfing. first of all, i like surfing a lot. it's super fun and i always love being out in the water. some of my friends here tease me for being a 'fair weather' surfer. i like to think i'm not. although, i tend to be a wuss when it comes to the cold. i know, i know. you laugh because i live in hawaii and it rarely drops below the seventies here. but for reals, it gets cold people. especially the water in the winters. anyway, i have grown to truly enjoy surfing in the rain too. i think if it's raining and cloudy off the get go, my desire to go out and surf drops dramatically. although, if i find myself caught in the rain, i absolutely love it! the surf always seems to get better when it's raining and it suddenly turns into one of those times where you sit on your board and look around thinking, "gosh this is so dang awesome."

also, the biggest waves i feel comfortable surfing are usually waist high. i most often find myself surfing baby waves or white wash. sometimes i think i'm not cool, because let's get real . . . the pics look lame (haha). they always feel bigger than they look, right?! but then i remember i surf because i love it and it's fun, so who cares. i plan on surfing the rest of my life and taking my kiddies out with me someday. i don't have the desire to ever get a short board and shred. i'm an idaho girl, lets face it, i'm never going to get that good, ha! which i can accept. although, i do love long boarding. one day i hope to be able to cross step and hang 10! we'll see if that ever happens ;).
